Edward Rozinsky is a natural teacher. Ever since he was a young boy, he has always wanted to teach others everything that he has mastered, be it a piano etude, ballroom dance, or mime technique. Later he organized the first pantomime group in his town.
While studying at the Leningrad Institute of Theatre, Mr. Rozinsky conducted a Mime company, where he trained young artists. They have become a core for a well-known in Europe and elsewhere mime-clown company "Litzedei" (Jesters in English). Several of them became world-renowned mimes and clowns, employed in such prestigious organizations as "Cirque du Soleil." Mr. Rozinsky's apprentice Slava Polunin in his critically acclaimed "Slava's SnowShow," recently appeared on Broadway.
After studying theater arts, under prominent Stage Director/Educator Georgi Tovstonogov (himself a student of Konstantin Stanislavsky), Edward Rozinsky continued his Stage Movement education under a well-known professor Ivan Kokh.
With Mime art being still a novelty at a time, Edward Rozinsky developed a program and taught mime professionally at Leningrad Theatre Institute. Soon his first book, "The Silent Art," was published, and his skills as a Stage Director, Stage Movement Instructor, and Choreographer were widely utilized.
In 1979 Mr. Rozinsky emigrated to the United States and took a pro-active approach to his new life. He choreographed movement scenes in several off-Broadway productions, directed, and acted in a variety show, and taught Acting and Stage Movement in a Modeling School in NY.
As a Professor of Physical Theatre at the University of Miami since 1983, Edward Rozinsky designed a program that included Essential Stage Movement, Period Movement, Stage Unarmed Combat, Stage Fencing, and Mime.
His book "Essential Stage Movement" was published in 1988, and received favorable reviews from teachers of the subject. With the emergence of the image- and sound-recording technology, Mr. Rozinsky created a Virtual Course in Stage Movement, a beneficial teaching tool for thousands of acting students, choreographers, and movement teachers for many generations.
Another textbook by Prof. Rozinsky, "Essential Stage Fencing," a systematic training in the safe use of a weapon on stage, has been published recently.
The teaching and coaching Movement for Actor method in many schools has helped generations of professional actors in Russia and the United States to develop their natural psycho-physical abilities.
